Also featuring: The Ambrosian Singers and Children's Chorus - Choir Master: John McCarthy Central Band of the Royal Air Force - Director: Wing Commander J. R. Wallace O.B.E. Guns of the King's Troop, Royal Horse Artillery Russian Church Bells. Transcribed and arranged by Igor Buketoff. Wow. This arrangement defies convention and uses a choir in several passages with the orchestra not making an appearance until almost two minutes into the piece. A further four choral sections are used although all of these are accompanied. The finale does not skimp on drama featuring two choir entries, cannons, and bells. Originally released in 1968 this transfer was taken from a 1979 re-issue on RCA Gold Seal. Cannons - yes, real. Choir - yes, two. Quirks - choirs, distinctive reed sections, and some brisk pacing.
