This Colorado hiking trail is absolutely amazing. You hike along the ridge and have 360 views along the way. The first mile is the most intense, 918 feet/280 meters, but then it becomes slightly more gentle. As you start getting towards the last ascent, keep an eye out for pikas. These cute furry creatures are related to the rabbit family. They are extremely shy, and you'll usually hear their high-pitched squeak letting the other pikas know there are people coming. You'll have to sit quietly for a short while and then they'll start to come out. If you want to do this hike, arrive as early as your body will let you drag it out of bed.
