In the high-profile case surrounding the untimely death of University of Hyderabad PhD student Rohith Vemula, the Telangana state police has filed a closure report, clearing several prominent figures including Minister Smriti Irani, MLC N Ramachander Rao, Vice Chancellor Appa Rao, leaders of the ABVP, and former Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya. Rohith was not a member of the Scheduled Caste, according to the study that will be filed in the Telangana High Court.
