This television footage, primarily from local Kansas City station KCMO-TV, is a compilation of several miscellaneous segments of news footage, both black and white and color, a few with sound where indicated, of former president Harry S. Truman and his family in and around Kansas City and Independence, Missouri, c. 1955-1972. It also includes non-KCMO-TV coverage of the 1949 Inaugural parade. They are not presented in chronological order and some of them repeat later. The first 37:00 of this reel duplicates other film in our holding. KCMO's successor, KCTV-5, is allowing the Truman Library to post this footage. Users should seek permission to use this footage from KCTV. The Inaugural parade footage is copyright unknown.
