About Amos Kwizera: Amos Kwizera is a returnee refugee and human rights advocate who spent over 20 years in Kyangwali settlement. The loss of his younger sister due to lack of healthcare, and the ongoing injustices faced by displaced people, inspired his work. A Mastercard Foundation Scholar and Amahoro Fellow, Amos holds a Master’s in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po, Paris. With over eight years of experience, he has worked with displaced communities from DRC, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Somalia. Amos leads in both humanitarian and entrepreneurial spaces. As Country Director of CIYOTA–DRC, a refugee-led organization, he supports education and skills training for displaced youth, reaching over 1.5 million people to date. He is also Co-Founder and Executive Director of Kivu Society Corporation (KSC), a Goma-based enterprise adding value to local produce and creating jobs for displaced youth. KSC has reached 500,000+ customers, created over 200 jobs (90% for IDPs, 50% young women), and aims to create 100,000 jobs by 2035. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Mastercard Foundation is a registered Canadian charity and one of the largest foundations in the world.
