Amid the military conflict in Ukraine and the humanitarian concerns, there also are worries over the state of the country's artistic heritage. Dr. Barbara Jatta, Director of the Vatican Museums, notes there is a piece of Ukrainian art at the Holy See, an icon given to St. John Paul II during his visit there in 2001. EWTN Vatican Bureau Chief, Andreas Thonhauser, caught up with Dr. Jatta to find out how the museums are doing amid the pandemic. She shares whether there are any pieces of art she recommends visitors to check out. Dr. Jatta also fills us in on whether she is optimistic that the number of visitors to the Vatican Museums will return to pre-pandemic numbers.
