The legal team provides legal assistance and representation, to persons in vindicating their rights under human rights and anti-discrimination legislation, in particular under the Employment Equality Acts 1998–2015, the Equal Status Acts 2000–2015, and more generally in relation to the protection and promotion of human rights and equality. The legal team also represents the Commission in the Superior Courts as amicus curiae (friend of the court) in proceedings that involve or are concerned with human rights or equality
