Storytelling at this year's Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival has been such a virtual experience for me. I have shared the stories far and away from where I just recorded my performance for the Festival on September 19, 2020 here on Eskey's Ridge in Madison County, NC. I've never lived anywhere but this place of my birth. That's not to say I haven't ever gone off now and again. In March, 2016, a real dream came true for me... I'm so blessed and I appreciate it, too. Since I was 10 years old, I have had this passion about Australia. If I'd had a bucket, going to Australia would've been the cream on the top of it. On March 14, 2016, I put very own bare foot, (the is the truth!) on Australian soil. I spent 3 of the very best weeks performing and met people so much like me I was astounded. I figured if I was ever going to be 10,000 miles from Mad.Co., NC, it would be there. It was, 10,027 miles! I was so looking forward to coming to Georgia for this festival. I've performed down in Dalonga and in Rabun County and just like in Australia, the people are so much like me and mine. Since I can't be with all y'all in person, then I'm proud to be able to do it this way. I'm still learning how to 'be' a virtual kind of person... which won't happen, because I enjoy people so much! But I will learn the ropes and use this vehicle to reach out to more fine people in this world because, thee, they and me are so much like one another. Thanks for all the hard work you fine folks working hard and making my part in the 2020 Georgia Mountain Storytelling Festival such wonderful experience. I'll come back, if you'll have me!
