Nitrous boost has been a common feature in arcade racing games ever since the days of Need for Speed Underground and it has been included in dozens of different games already. Here you can see what it looks like in exactly 30 different racing games, featuring not only well known franchises like NFS and The Crew but also some more obscure games like Street Racing Syndicate, Juiced or Super Street The Game. Enjoy the show! After 5 years I thought it should be more than time for a new version, since most of my current viewers probably haven't seen the old video yet or haven't seen it for a long time. Note that there are still quite a few more games with nitrous out there, so versions with 40 or 50 games could definitely be made some day as well. For this video my target was exactly 30 games though, so the video is 100% complete. As usual I have included exactly the games and cars that I wanted to include in the video and no games or cars were missed or forgotten. And of course I would like the comments to focus on the games that I am showing as well. Don't ask me about games that are not in the video. Talk to me about the games that are in it. NFS Underground introduced nitrous to the Need for Speed franchise and it has been in almost every game in the series since then. In Underground 1 you only had a limited amount of nitrous per race. In Underground 2 you could refill your nitrous with style actions like near misses. The nitrous bar could be filled up twice, which would lead to the more powerful boost that you can see in the video. In NFS Most Wanted, Carbon, Undercover and several others the nitrous will simply refill over time. In NFS ProStreet and Heat you only have a certain number of nitrous bottles and you can only use the whole bottle at once. In Heat you can choose between equipping several small bottles or one big one (which you can see in the video). In The Crew 2 and Motorfest you can use a set of legendary performance parts to double the amount of nitrous that you can carry and you can also use nitrous during jumps. Flatout has boost in all 4 main games and you can refill it by smashing objects or hitting opponents. I have also looked at Street Racing Syndicate and Truck Racer for the very first time for this video. SRS is an underground street racing game with licensed cars that is still available on Steam over 20 years after it came out. Truck Racer is a racing game that was created by Kylotonn before they started working on the WRC franchise. Which of the 30 games in the video are your favorites? In which of them do you like the nitrous mechanics the most? Feel free to share your views and personal anecdotes about nitrous in racing games in the comments.
