I did a ballistics gel and pattern test of BOSS Legacy Bismuth #5 shot against the #4 shot to see how they compared. I also tested some HEVI-Shot HEVI Steel #4 to see how the Bismuth #5 compared. These are waterfowl hunting shotgun shells. The bismuth #5 shot had significantly less penetration but more pattern density than the bismuth #4. However, the steel shot #4 penetrated about the same in the gel compared to the bismuth #5. These are good loads for hunting small ducks. They may be sufficient for geese at regular ranges as well. I used 10% FBI Ballistics Gel with the Mossberg 940 Pro Waterfowl and the Carlsons Bismuth Bone Buster choke tube. BOSS Shotshells gave me some of the ammo used in this video, Carlson's gave me the choke tube, and Mossberg gave me the shotgun.
