People have been weaving magic with their hands and legs for centuries now. They painstakingly craft each saree with utmost precision and love, often spending days as a family on a single saree. Watch them weave their magic in this video dedicated to all handloom workers, no, handloom artists of our world. Arun Veer Studio made "THARI" on love for tradition, dedication to their craft and hope for the future of this ancient art form. We are honoured to present the first video on our series WORK "தறி" | "Thari" on this International Workers' Day, MAY 1st, 2022. Thanks to Handloom Weavers of Sirumugai village in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. We have been culturally-rooted for ages, and our Indian weddings have been FAT all along and celebrated heartily like any other festival! It has to be correlated with the term Celebration, as they unite people, and they even celebrate it for days and maybe even weeks! You never know! As we speak, Arun Veer Studio has been a part of a movement documenting these events and enclosing these memories into a graciously wrapped gift back to you.! Along with these, we have a keen interest in socio-reformist videos, which ignites the fire of our passion. Producing quality content intrigued us, but the biggest question we had was! Where do we begin! However, through many discussions with experts and friends alike, the idea was born: Why not create a video series WORK documenting traditional works connected with weddings. For the first video for the series WORK, we choose The Saree! Yes, you read it right, everyone! Be it the everyday wearable or the Kalyana pattu (Wedding Saree); it takes the utmost care and love in the hands of world-class craftsmanship to reach our home. These hand-loomed Sarees have a history engrossed with their making and have a tradition that passed through generations. When we swam deep down into its roots, we came across a place and a community still dedicating their life to producing these quality materials through handloom only to carry forward such tradition to its next generation. It was overwhelming to watch such a visual where a whole family is involved in the looming of a single Saree. We just thought to have a peek at the day to day life of these craftsmen and their families, who are equally involved in hand-looming. We are honoured to present the first video on our Video series WORK "தறி" | "Thari" on this International Workers' Day, MAY 1st, 2022.
