in the 1980’s I heard that world class cello virtuoso Jacqueline Du Pre having been struck down with multiple sclerosis woke up one day, felt she could play again, then rushed down to Abbey Road Studios and recorded for a while before the disease came in and she slowly lost control of her hands.That was the last time she ever played. As I was thinking of this I began to see her burning alive, calling out to me... Years later through one of the world's great psychics I found out Jacqueline had been a Cathar in a previous life burnt alive at Montsegur - many Cathars were great musicians and artists - the talent/personality remains, but exists in the subconscious mind. Jacqueline probably didn't know of her Cathar heritage, but her ability to channel divine energy remained - was what made her so great. When you see her/hear her perform she and the music become one...the original ancient Egyptian magic; a transformation of the spirit through art/vibrational energy.... I wrote ON FIRE inspired by Du Pre recorded magnificently by one of her students Melissa Phelps and pianist Scott Mitchell who understands my music at a very profound level.
