Meet Liora 🌟 a fashion design student from @WashUSTL, who studied abroad in Fall 2025 at SRISA (Santa Reparata International School of Art) in Florence, Italy. Originally from New York, Leora shares how immersing herself in Florence’s rich history of art, architecture, and culture has deeply influenced her creative process and approach to fashion design. In this video, Leora reflects on how studying fashion in Italy allows her to draw inspiration directly from the past—particularly Renaissance art, historical garments, and the cultural language of clothing—while translating those ideas into contemporary, sculptural fashion. Inspired by designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Olivier Rousteing, she explores fashion as an artistic and expressive medium, not just something wearable. Leora also talks about her favorite course at SRISA, Fiber Manipulation, and how experimenting with materials, techniques like felting and weaving, and hands-on garment creation has pushed her creatively. She shares how studying abroad has shaped her confidence, broadened her perspective, and prepared her for future challenges in the fashion industry. ✨ From drawing inspiration in Florence’s streets to reimagining historical details for modern fashion, Leora’s story highlights the transformative power of studying art and design abroad. 📍 Learn more about studying fashion at SRISA: 👉 https://srisa.org #StudyAbroad #FashionDesign #SRISA #StudyFashionAbroad #FlorenceFashion #FashionStudent #FiberManipulation #FashionAsArt #WomenInFashion #CreativeJourney #ArtHistoryInspiration #DesignEducation #StudyInItaly
