I spent three months building this luxury clay house as a peaceful retreat for me and my senior Golden Retriever, Goldie. We never expected it would be put to the ultimate test so soon. When a massive wildfire suddenly swept through our forest, the roads were cut off, and the sky turned pitch black. With nowhere to run, this thermal mass mud structure became our only chance at survival. This is the raw footage of what happens when extreme heat meets an off-grid earth build, and how a simple clay sanctuary kept us safe when the firestorm hit.
