Nepal Election 2026:Rapper-turned-politician and former Kathmandu mayor Balendra Shah cast his vote as Nepal headed to the polls in a crucial general election. Widely seen as a frontrunner in the race for prime minister, Shah joined millions of voters participating in the nationwide vote to elect 275 members of parliament. Around 19 million eligible voters are casting ballots under Nepal’s mixed electoral system, with 165 seats decided through direct first-past-the-post voting and 110 through proportional representation.
