I wanted to chat a little bit about the production of this short documentary which for me, was very powerful. I am forever amazed by people. I look up to those who have the strength to share their story, to not only better themselves but for those who are witness to it. When she vacates the space for one month each summer, it is important to continue to water the vibrant local art scene. Most recently, this looks like a 1-month residency for fellow artists to expand and deepen their practice in a dedicated workspace. Logan McDowell and Vanessa Villarreal are the two artists featured for the first Summer at The Stew. “The Stew” is more than an art studio. It is a DIY flex space that hosts markets, pop-up exhibitions, art builds, and more. It is the concept of local artist Rose Jaffe, started in 2017 out of a desire to connect, collaborate and build community by providing accessible art space.
