Dr. Richard Cohen is a tennis champion who holds many titles. At age 65, he is the #1 ranked tennis player in the middle states (PA, NJ, DE) for ages 30, 50 and 60 singles. He is the only man who has won the US national Father and Son and Father and Daughter championships in the same year. He holds 5 USTA National championship gold balls. He was the 5th ranked high school player in the US in 1965. He played tennis for University of Pennsylvania where he went 42-3. While he was in medical school and residency, he was the head coach for Lasalle University from '74-'81. He was recently inducted into the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, where he sang the "The Tennis Song" he wrote about his experiences playing tennis. In 1980, at the Cynwyd Club, he played the world's longest tennis point in match play that lasted one hour, 29 minutes, which was in the Guiness Book of World Records. In 2009, he set a USTA record by being ranked #1 in seven divisions in the middle states. His children, Josh and Julia Cohen are world class tennis players.
