T8 Colossus: Powerhouse in the Expert Hands - World of Warships

Colossus is a unique British aircraft carrier that excels at dealing heavy damage to cruisers and carriers. Unlike other British carriers of the same tier, Colossus lacks an armored deck but makes up for it with low detectability, allowing for more aggressive positioning. The Vought Corsair MkIV Attack Aircraft is Colossus's strongest armament, firing armor-piercing rockets that can cause significant damage to broadsides. Each squadron consists of 12 aircraft, with a strike containing 3 planes launching 6 rockets each. These rockets have a high alpha and can potentially sink a light cruiser or carrier with a single strike. They also deal high damage to the superstructure and upper deck of capital ships. Colossus's Fairey Barracuda MkV Torpedo Bombers launch slow torpedoes with a decent alpha and high flooding chance. Each squadron consists of 6 aircraft, with a strike containing 3 planes dropping 1 torpedo each. The small squadron size makes it challenging to carry out multiple strikes on the same target, so utilizing islands for cover is recommended. These torpedo bombers come with an in-flight repair consumable, enhancing their survivability. The Fairey Barracuda MkV Carpet Bombers on Colossus are effective against targets with up to 32mm armor plating. Each squadron consists of 9 aircraft, with a strike containing 3 planes. A full strike drops 18 bombs that have a decent alpha and high fire chance, allowing for the stacking of multiple fires on the same target. These aircraft have a high health pool, increasing their survivability against heavy anti-aircraft fire. Colossus has several strengths, including its powerful AP rockets, torpedo bombers with a high flood chance, and carpet bombers with good fire chance. The ship also boasts good concealment and its planes have high health and speed. However, it has a small hangar with longer plane restoration times, short-ranged AA defenses, and a low top speed.
