Lutèce Créations, the european specialist in automatons (or automata) and mechanical music instruments (music boxes and barrel organs) presents in this video, "The great magician" an android automaton made in 1920 by Jean-Marie Phalibois, a maker of automatons in Paris. A copy of this electric automaton was sold at an auction in Paris, at "Drouot" in April 2022. The android represents a Maharaja, a conjurer who makes his partner appear and disappear in big boxes. In the famous Alfred Chapuis' book we can read: "At the International Magical Congress in Paris, in September 1947, one could admire another illusionist automaton, the officiant there was dressed in an oriental costume. The two cupboards do not appear to have communication either through the back wall or with the floor".
