Plot :- Melodrama set in Bengal and centred around an extended family. Baikunth Majumdar(Bipin Gupta) is a widower with a son named Gokul(Guru Dutt). He remarries and his second wife Bhawani raises Gokul alongside her own son Vinod(Raj Kumar). When they grow up, Gokul stays home to look after the family shop whilst Vinod leaves for the city to study. There he falls into bad company and the parents decide to leave the family property to Gokul. When Vinod returns home, he contests the will. Vinod- the son of Bhawani always felt jealous from the start and years later- Gokul handled the Shop and Vinod went for higher studies in City- where he gets addicted to Alcohol.
