Texas Instruments Shows Off World’s Smallest Microcontroller (MSPM0C1104)

At Embedded World 2025, Brian Tristam Williams visited the ‪@TexasInstruments‬ booth to check out the world’s smallest microcontroller, the MSPM0C1104. Alex Grudzinski from TI introduced the new chip, which measures just 1.38 mm² — 38% smaller than any other microcontroller on the market. Despite its tiny size, it features 16 KB of flash memory, 1 KB of SRAM, a 12-bit ADC with up to three channels, six GPIOs, three timers (including one with dead-band control), and serial communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, and I²C. This ultra-compact MCU is attracting interest from manufacturers in personal electronics, medical devices, and industrial automation, where board space is at a premium.
