I'll also cover the toxic secretion of the red-spotted newt, tetrodotoxin, and we'll see marbled salamanders guarding eggs! Thanks for watching! Va. Herp. Society ► https://www.virginiaherpetologicalsoc... This is Casual Outdoors Weekly #21 **The salamander identified as a Jefferson salamander has raised a bit of an identification dispute. An individual contacted me from a herpetological society suggesting that this may be a spotted salamander that is just unspotted. Though, as of now, the majority consensus, given from individuals with far more salamander expertise than I, remains that this is a Jefferson salamander. Feel free to leave your thoughts below! ***I returned to the park at a later date and found another Jefferson salamander very close to this first one. I'm quite certain the salamander in this video is a Jefferson. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Subscribe ► https://www.youtube.com/c/KoawNature?... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Be a Patron of Koaw Nature ► / koawnature ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *CONNECT WITH ME* Website ► http://www.koaw.org/ Instagram ► / koawnature Facebook ► / koawnature Your support of Koaw Nature leads to more educational and entertaining content for you!
