SOCO takes a look back at the controversial 1993 rape-murder case of former Calauan, Laguna mayor Antonio Sanchez. The family of the slain UP Los Baños student Mary Eileen Sarmenta and Allan Gomez recall the night they found out the death of their children. Days after the body of the victims were found in a remote area, authorities began the investigation on the rape-slay case of the UP students. Witnesses of the incident, identified as Aurelio Centeno and Vicencio Malabanan, speak about the involvement of Sanchez and his trusted personnel in the subsequent rape and murder of Sarmenta, and torture and murder of Gomez. The trial court finds Sanchez and several henchmen guilty of rape, torture, and murder and sentenced them to seven terms of 40 years of imprisonment.
