Andy Capp talks about Duke Reid, Coxson Dodd, and Bob Marley in this vintage Interview by Rich Lowe. Need more? www.ReggaeJamaicaWay.com Capp worked as the Chief Radio Engineer at RJR Radio, and as a Recording Studio Engineer at Lee Perry's Black Ark, Leslie Kong's Beverley's Studio, Ken Khouri's Federal Studio, Coxson Dodd's Studio One, among many more. He was an extremely bright man who was among the first to experiment with "Versioning" for commercial audio releases. This means he created (as the recording artist himself, and with others) various versions - or additional takes of the same instrumental track for songs. The creation was inspired by recording studio down time, where he had spare time himself, he had the studio available, and the musicians - his friends, were all gathered around. Andy Capp would work into the wee hours of the morning experimenting with audio effects, instrumental recordings with an array of musicians, and vocals by whomever was available - including the studio's Security guard! Sadly, Linford Anderson passed away in 2020, but his impact on music is significant and lasting. *Get to know his history because this post is just the tip of the iceberg.
