First Time Back In 75 Years // Stories From The Battlefield // Battle Of The Bulge

Stories From The Battlefield // Howard Buford, #101stAirborne, talks about the action he saw in Bizory, Belgium during The #BattleOfTheBulge. A big part of what the Best Defense Foundation does is bring #WWII veterans back to where they fought and served. We have brought hundreds of veterans back over the years, and have no plans on stopping. One of our favorite things that we get to do while on program, is taking veterans to specific locations where they personally saw #combat. It’s amazing to see the memories and stories that all of the sudden start pouring out of them. In this series, we will share with you all these great stories that we have captured, and will continue to capture as long as we have veterans that are able to go back. We took Howard Buford, 98, to #Bastogne, Belgium for his first time since the war. It was a very emotional experience for him after 75 years. We visited Bizory, where Howard saw his first combat. One of our team members, Ronald Stassen, is very familiar with Bizory and was able to guide Howard in retracing his steps.
