FledgePower: A Protocol Translation Gateway for Power Systems - Akli Rahmoun, RTE & Daniel Lazaro, OSISOFT Various protocols (IEC 104, IEC 61850, IEC TASE.2, OPC UA, KAFKA pubsub, …) are implemented to operate a transmission system from local to centralized levels. The combination of protocols to be supported is huge as a legacy of protocols may remain for years. Therefore the ability to translate from one protocol to another is a key feature for every TSO. As the needs are growing and the number of use cases are flourishing, we are incented to look for a highly efficient, secured and cost effective solution. The newly launched FledgePower project under the Linux Foundation Energy aims to tackle this challenge by achieving the development of that use case and building a dedicated community of users and developers to support it. FledgePower will embed Fledge focusing on the protocols translation. A strong cooperation with the Fledge (LF EDGE project) community will be ensured.
