We meet Toy Selectah (aka Toy Hernandez), DJ/Producer from Monterrey, Mexico, at Party at WODA, one of the biggest clubs in Latin America, when he was sharing the bill with 2manydjs and Buraka Som Sistema. Toy has produced and remixed with a huge array of musical legends, including Morrissey, Cypress Hill and, more recently, Vampire Weekend. He shares a label with three other guys called Sones del Mexside, and hes part of a band called Sonidero Nacional, whose sound is taken from hip hop, breakbeats and reggae. One of his main musical influences at the moment is 'cumbia columbiana', and with his new-school spin on it, it's set to blow up. In the clip Toy chats to DJsounds about his own musical style ('Raverton'), his global audiences, playing with Groove Armada, his favourite piece of Pioneer equipment, which almost always features on his rider, and his upcoming Vampire Weekend remix.
