In this short video, Dr. Hutcheson explains how Leonardo DaVinci's anatomical drawings from over 600 years ago are relevant today. In the beginning of the video Dr. Hutcheson reviews an elongated styloid process that was evident on this anatomical model from 1496. Elongated styloid processes have been thought to have been primarily incidental findings - the etiology and pathogenesis controversial, and with some recent thoughts that they could grow and this ligament (stylohyoid ligament) harden when exposed to trauma or to compensate for poor structural health. Normal spinal curvatures (which there are actually 5 - more to come in future videos) including the cervical lordosis, thoracic kyphosis, and lumbar lordosis - have been important for human health throughout our existence. See how even in 1500A.D. normal and healthy spinal curvatures remain consistent with what all modern medical textbooks also suggest. When our skeletons have normal spinal curvatures, our spinal cords, nervous system, circulatory systems, and more are given the best chance to functional optimally - with the absence of structural interference!
