InterZoo is the largest pet trade fair in the world, so I was very excited when visiting it for the first time in 2012. In this video I show tanks displayed by Petra - Aqua, Aqualified and Aquaroche companies. Petra Aqua is a Chech Republic-based company (http://www.petra-aqua.com), exporting aquarium fish worldwide. Two freshwater aquariums were displayed at the booth, one with anglesfish, and the second with African cichlids. 00:31 Planted aquarium with large angelfish Pterophyllum scalare. This is one of very classic planted tanks, which can not be seen very often these days, when everyone is crazy about "nature aquariums" and "aquascaping" ;) This tank is just a very nice underwater "garden". Plant species I recognize are: Staurogyne repens, Hydrocotyle tripartita, Blyxa japonica. 01:03 Aquarium with cichlids from the lake Malawi. The only species I recognize here is Protomelas taeniolatus (I think :) ). Aqualified International (http://www.aqualified.lk) is a company from Sri Lanka, specializing in breeding and exporting livebearer fish, like guppies, platy swordtails and mollies. 01:37 We can clearly see it in aquariums displayed at the booth - there are only livebearer fish present in them :) All tanks are very densely planted with lots of healthy plants. However, tanks are very fresh, so the water is still cloudy... (slight overstocking may also have something to do with this problem... ;) ) And finally, Aquaroche is a French company (http://aquaroche.fr/en), manufacturing ceramic aquarium decorations. There was one tank at the booth of Aquaroche, with very attractive and eye-catching illumination. 02:08 You can see a single beam of light, creating vertical "column of ligh" in the middle of the tank, going all the way from the surface to the bottom. It looked really attractive - as if there was some sort of an overhang, or a cave, above the aquarium, and there was only one narrow hole, through which the sunlight penetrated the water. Plants used in this layout are clumps of Microsorum pteropus - nothing exceptional, but add nice green colour to this overall rocky layout. Aquarium is stocked with fish from lake Tanganyika - the small shell dweller is Neolamprologus multifasciatus, and the black and white elongated fish is most probably Julidochromis marlieri. I don't know, though, what is the fish which is hiding in the cave near the bottom. It's quite large, too large for a shell dweller, so my gues would be it's Neolamprologus brichardi - however I'm not 100% sure :) Anyway, enjoy the video! :)
