ISH News has been updating you on the Supreme Court’s order to relocate stray dogs in Delhi NCR, prompted by rising dog-bite cases and rabies deaths, especially among children. Due to protests and criticism from animal lovers, celebrities, politicians, and some previous Supreme Court orders, the case was shifted to a three-judge bench Now, we have a new update. The bench postponed its decision on whether to pause (stay) the earlier August order. The judges sharply criticized local authorities (municipality), saying the problem exists because of their inaction and lack of proper implementation of animal control laws. The Delhi government urged action, highlighting rabies risks, danger to children, and frustration with ongoing legal delays. Key Points from Today’s Arguments: Order Details: Authorities must immediately create shelters for at least 5,000 dogs in the next 6–8 weeks. Shelters should have enough staff, CCTV monitoring, and proper care, no cruelty or overcrowding allowed. Stray dogs should be sterilised, immunised and kept in shelters with strict record-keeping. Dogs must not be released back after picking up or after adoption. A helpline number (within 1 week) should be set up so that dog bite incidents can be reported; any dog involved must be caught within 4 hours. The Delhi government must publish rabies vaccine availability and treatment statistics. Any obstruction by individuals or NGOs would be contempt of court. Conclusion: Stray dog pickup and relocation to shelters has begun in Delhi under the 11 August Supreme Court order. The Court has postponed its final decision, so future actions may change based on the next verdict. #savestrays #justiceforvoiceless #dogbite #animalrights #delhinews #rabies #indiansignlanguage #signlanguage
