"A former Eden Games designer posted a video on his portfolio site of several minutes of footage from the aborted project, which was slated to be a high-definition remake of the original 1992 PC game. The original is considered a predecessor to popular survival horror franchises like Resident Evil and The House of the Dead. Eden Games released a 2008 sequel - also titled Alone in the Dark - for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, Xbox 360 and PC. Atari, Eden Games’ parent company, shuttered the development studio in 2003, effectively canceling the remake indefinitely. Last year at GDC, Alone in the Dark creator Frederick Raynal talked about why he hated the game during development."
