Here is the idol of Krishna that Meera had | Meera Bai Mandir | Jagat Shiromani Mandir Jaipur | Meera Bai Mandir Jaipur | Jagat Shiromani Temple Jaipur | Places To Visit In Jaipur | Jaipur Vlog Hi Friends, Welcome to my You tube Channel " DK TRAVELOGY ". About This Video : The 425-year-old Jagat Shiromani Mandir, which is very important from the heritage, architecture and religious point of view, is located in Amer Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. This temple dedicated to Meera Bai and Lord Krishna is also called 'Meera Bai Mandir'. This temple has an important place in the history of Amer town. The temple was built between 1599-1608 AD by Rani Kanakwati, wife of Akbar's chief commander Raja Man Singh I, in memory of her untimely deceased 14-year-old young son Jagat Singh. The construction of this temple started in 1599 and after 9 years this three storied magnificent temple was completed in 1608 AD. This temple near Amer Mahal (Fort) has two entrances. The main entrance can be reached from the main road of Amer city. The second gate is from the side of Amer Mahal which leads inside the open courtyard of the temple. One of the oldest temples in Amer, this temple is the best example of the early 17th century Mahameru style with a sanctum sanctorum, vestibule and mandap with projecting screen windows on either side, the temple stands on a high ornate adhishthana, the three storied sanctum sanctorum is adorned with a shikhara which is decorated with successive rows of urushringas and karnasringas. The mandap is two storied with lateral transepts on either side. In front of the temple on the upper storey and roof walls is a marble Garuda-mandap, the carrier of Lord Vishnu. There is a marble arch (torana) at the entrance of the temple with statues of elephants on both sides. The arch is a wonderful example of architecture. It is said that this arch was made from a single rock of Makrana marble. The idol image of various deities is carved in detail in this arch. This temple was built in Besar style. This temple also has Lord Vishnu made of white marble. An interesting legend about this temple is that the idol of Lord Krishna in this temple is the same idol that Meera Bai used to worship in Chittorgarh fort 600 years ago. This idol was saved from destruction by the rulers of Amer during the Mughal war with the Mewar kingdom and was safely brought to Amer by Raja Mansingh.
