Ten years ago I translated English subtitles for this awesome Flemish animation film. For personal use to show some of my international friends. Now I see that the English dub for this film on Youtube is atrocious. So I've decided to add the subtitled version for this film to Youtube, so people outside of the Dutch community can enjoy the original Flemish version as well. Just turn on the subs on Youtube for this video. It's not a perfect translation, but it'll do. In due time I'll revisit and improve the translation where possible. About the English dub: I've seen the original Flemish version probably 50+ times throughout my youth and it's one of my favorite movies. The dub removes the original sound effects, original music and the voice casting is much more comical than serious. Because of these changes, the movie lost all of its scare. The original one is legitimately scary, the music is haunting, the characters have a certain gravitas. Most of the people my age actually had nightmares when they were young because of it. And we love this movie because of it. My brother said it best: The Flemish version is done like an animation film, the English one like a cartoon.
