Basic Information: Siren: Federal Signal 2001-SRNB (Installed in 2002; One of the first SRNBs installed) Town: Madison Twp (Richland Co.) System: Richland County Siren System Location: Madison Twp. Fire Station 1 Tested: 4th Wednesday of Every Month at 4:00 PM Uses: Tornado Siren Cycle: 30 Second Alert Other Notes: So today I decided to head over to Richland Co for one the "small logo" SRNBs in Richland Co. These are some of the first SRNBs to have been installed, since they don't have the "SRNB" sticker and it also used the old SRN control boxes. Unfortunately the county only tests for 30 seconds. I only came down here because of the shot. It's a little off centered, but for setting up 700ft away, I think it turned out nice. We had to shoot over U.S. 30 and it was windy and kept making my shot drift. Although this siren isn't "technically" in Mansfield, it's right on the city border. The city itself doesn't own any sirens, because when the county got a grant for 42 sirens, a handful are SRNs (6 or 7 iirc) and the rest are these SRNBs. The city didn't qualify for them, because they were "big enough to afford a system." They considered it, but eventually dropped those plans. Richland Co also has a Fedelcode Model 5 and a few Model 5. The Fedelcode is a fire siren that Washington Twp uses. I'm not to sure about the other 5s. Right at 4 the priest of the church I was set up at decided to play 20 questions with me. Fortunately they didn't test yet. I called around 4:03 and the pre-recorded message said the office was closed. I about packed up and left, but I decided just to press a random option and hope they'd be able to help. Thankfully the guy who answered informed the dispatch that they needed to test. He said they were busy, but would be going off shortly. Moments later tones drop and it finally comes to life!Enjoy! *NOTE: I will not be held responsible for any misuse of activation tones for ill intent.
