Various of rocket launchers driving past STORYLINE: A military parade was held in Kabul on Sunday to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the overthrow of Soviet backed communist rule in Afghanistan. After nearly ten years in Afghanistan the Soviet Union withdrew in 1992 and the mujahideen swept victoriously into Kabul. On Sunday interim leader Hamid Karzai saluted and addressed government soldiers before watching a march past of troops and hardware. America and its coalition partners have funded and trained much of Afghanistan's new military, but old Soviet weaponry was also on display.
