EN - Flying demonstrations are given above Twente airport for the Weerden Poelman Fund, which provides support to the relatives of Dutch pilots who died during the Second World War. Hendrik van Weerden Poelman was a Dutch Military Aviation Pioneer (1890-1945) who was known for his social involvement with the personnel of the then Aviation Department. During the demonstrations we see squadrons of aircraft on their way to the airport, including Spitfires, Harvards (stunting) and Gloster Meteor fighter jets. Parachutists jump from a DC-3 Dakota, a sports plane (Piper-Cup type) demonstrating low-speed aerobatic flying just above the ground.
