This week’s UCSF Department of Medicine Covid-19 Grand Rounds features three segments. First, George Rutherford will review the state of the pandemic, including the implications of hot spots in the United States and Europe. Annie Luetkemeyer then gives us an update on outpatient treatments for Covid, including monoclonal antibodies and a large group of oral agents (such as ivermectin, vitamin D, fluoxetine, colchicine, and hydroxychloroquine) that have been touted as beneficial despite uncertain evidence. Finally, Adam Lauring of the University of Michigan will describe emerging data on Covid variants, including the current uptick in cases in Michigan. The session is moderated by UCSF Department of Medicine Chair Bob Wachter.
