By using these links, you are not being charged any extra money ⭐️GROCERY LIST potatoes - 10 lb bag 2 corn tortillas Great Value 30 count 1.98 (get 80 for $1 more) 1 lb Great Value beans pinto 1.08 1 lb Great Value beans kidney 1.28 1 Italian loaf bread 1 1 onion 0.17 1 rice Great Value 2 lb 1.86 1 Fiesta shredded cheese 1.97 lentils 0.68 red lentils 0.35 1 clove garlic 0.64 1 can corn 0.68 1 bunch spinach 0.79 ginger 0.04 2 jalapeños 0.2 1 carrot 0.19 4 tomatillos 0.6 1 roma 0.24 4 green beans 0.05 1 bunch cilantro 0.33 TOTAL 16.13 for 2 weeks or 1 week for 2 people =$1.15 per day ⭐️RECIPES ⭐️ FRENCH ONION SOUP - How I made it 1/2 large yellow onion bouillon of your choice - I used vegetable bouillon 1 potato 1/4 carrot 2 bay leaves 1/2 tsp thyme 4 slices of Italian loaf Great Value Walmart bread Fiesta blend cheese and/or whatever cheese you have / mozzarella, etc .Gruyere is what is usually used. 2-3 tbs flour. Saute onions low and slow until carmelized. Add flour and cook for a few minutes. Add water and bouillon then diced potatoes, carrots, bay leaves and thyme. Toast bread on one side. Pour soup into casserole dish and then cover with toasted bread and cheese. Cover with foil or lid and pop in oven for a few minutes until cheese is melted and then cook under the broiler for a few minutes until cheese is desired consistency. ⭐️ FRENCH RICE SALAD 1 Cup White Rice 4 green beans cut into bite sized pieces 1/3 cup canned corn small amount of spinach 1/2 cup cooked kidney beans DRESSING Dash white wine vinegar - or any vinegar Dash oil 1 small chopped clove garlic - omit if you don't like strong taste of garlic dash thyme dash basil dash dill (optional, wasn't in original recipe) Boil rice until almost done, rinse in cold water to stop cooking. Set aside. In large bowl add chopped garlic, oil, and other seasonings. Add in rest of ingredients and toss. add in black olives if you have them and also fresh basil. ⭐️ LENTIL SOUP knob garlic 1 large or 3 small cloves garlic 1/2 cup dry lentils 1 chopped potato 1/2 carrot chopped bunch spinach turmeric 1 tsp salt and pepper to taste saute garlic and ginger being careful not to burn the garlic. Add in water (approximately 3-4 cups), then add in potatoes, lentils and seasonings. I add in my spinach and carrots towards the end because I don't like my carrots overly soft. Great with a little nutritional yeast added in. I also sometimes sub out the spinach with kale, add cabbage or tomatoes, and sub out green lentils for red lentils.
