Before the alarm rings, the morning light shining through the window softly illuminates the curtains. The light gently caresses my still sleepy eyes. It is as if we are being told that today is a new gift. We have greeted the day many times, but no two mornings are the same. There are moments when we realize how strange it is and how gracious it is. The words of Proverbs, “Commit all your actions to the Lord and your plans will stand firm,” come to mind and then disappear. The smell of burning toast and slightly cold milk tea. I felt something quietly begin to happen, a combination of gratitude and prayer.
