Breaking Down Strategy for the NEW Live Poker Satellites
PokerStars introduced a new live satellite at EPT Prague and have continued running these satellites here at EPT Monte Carlo. Instead of the usual satellite structure where a certain amount of players get a satellite seat once enough people have busted, this new format gives satellite seats to a player who gets a certain number of chips. For example, in the new single-day satellite, you get a 10K starting stack, 15 minute levels, and the moment you accumulate 50,000 chips, you automatically win the seat and have your chips taken out of play. Sasha Salinger asks poker player Max Silver how he would approach this new type of satellite. What would he do differently in this format than a traditional format? What are the pros and cons of this type of format?
