14th Feb 2025 ..... This is the build for Customer Rob who wanted a new Diff built, as strong as we can make it for the rear of his 110 (so a Short Nose Differential) and with THIS center - which is a Long Nose. We have done everything we can to make this as strong as we possibly can.... Already quite a special build - BUT This also has a New ATB - but with an absolutely HUGE difference ! Back in 209 Dave and Ian Ashcroft developed 2 x new Diffs to be launched, this was one, and the current Ashlocker the other. Within a budget they had to choose one, and the Ashlocker won, and has proved to be pretty much a market leader in both design, reliability, strength and spares support. This unit - the 'ATB LSD' never made in into production other than via the initial batch of 20 or so made. this video was the first of 2 we had left - so we have just one center brand new remaining - it might be on out webshop, or may now be long gone ... Sooooo...... if you watch the video link and decide you fancy it - then - if you are quick you can have it built with any combination of build you fancy - but - be quick, ......when this last remaining unit has gone ......it's........... GONE What makes this unit so different and unique are the additional 2 x Carbon Fibre LSD plates at each end. I will try to explain simply..... Think of a scale of 0 to 10. An open diff is 0 - that's it - its open there is no additional traction. Now think of a Locker, Now with a Locker the scale is 0 - for unlocked and 10 for locked. Now with an ATB you get a linear increase of traction as the unit senses and delivers, with additional traction added as needed, so you get 0 1 2 3 4, 5,6, maybe 7 on a good day maybe even 8, ... ...but 9 and 10.... are not going to happen - thats into Locker territory. With this unit when you reach the absolute maximum traction the ATB can produce - the 2 x LSD plates kick in right at the very top end - and that's what makes this so special. We only now have one more of this unit, .....and there are no more. Tempted or just curious ?? - Watch the video of the build we have just completed as it shows the internals and more information. Dave at Ashcroft just might go into production, but we are waiting to see interest over the coming weeks maybe months ...but I wouldn't hold your breathe as these would require a HUGE capital outlay,..... so unless we see a real demand, these will just be consigned to history ..... (and probably hunted down for ownership) LOL
