New Braunfels is a city of about 100 thousand people, located in the Texas Hill Country area between Austin and San Antonio. It is known for its German heritage and history and it's a popular tourist spot for floating along the river. The historic downtown square is a popular entertainment spot (along with Gruene, which is not far away). Downtown New Braunfels features many live music spots including Moonshine and Ale, Muck and Fuss, Water2Wine, Sidecar, Krause's, Lone Star Lounge, Pour Haus, The Brauntex Theater, and the Phoenix Saloon.
