This observation sparked an interest which began my journey into the world of aviation. When I returned home that night, I immediately started researching Star Alliance. I soon realized that there was so much more to learn. From that moment on, aviation became a central part of my life and I knew that I would one day learn to fly. I made a promise to myself that when I get older, I would earn my pilot’s certificate. Nearly eight years later, after getting deeply involved in flight training & in the aviation community, I can proudly say that I have accomplished my dream of flying an airplane as the sole occupant at the age of 16 :) I am the PIC! I am super lucky to get to fly with such amazing flight instructors at Costanzo Air Flight School- including & especially my lead CFI Andriy Yanishevskiy- thank you so much for shaping me into the skilled & competent pilot I am today. I’ve learned so much & I look forward to learning much more !! And of course, none of this would have been possible without the support of my parents- thank you so much for going out of your way to support my passion and for devoting a lot of time and money to my flying- definitely does not go unappreciated. I always say it’s their fault for giving me the initials JET that I am this devoted to flying haha To me, flying feels like an escape to another world. The beyond magical experience of gently pulling the yoke towards you and all of a sudden bringing a machine heavier-than-air to the skies is indescribable. Watching the ground below become smaller and the horizon grow wider is such a surreal feeling. To think that airplanes have only been around for ~120 years is insane- especially now that air travel is the safest industry in the world. I will never take flying for granted. “Gravity is just a habit” (​⁠‪@okgo‬) & habits are breakable.
