CERAH Speaker Series – Indigenous Cultural Safety & Humility (ICH&S) & Systemic Racism: Connecting the Dots for Deeper Understanding to Strengthen Health Providers & Practice Speaker Bio: Harley Eagle, Dakota and Ojibway and a member of Whitecap Dakota First Nation, lives in the Territory of the K’ómoks Peoples on Vancouver Island, BC. Guided by Indigenous life ways, he has nearly 30 years of experience as a consultant and facilitator in cultural safety, anti-racism, conflict transformation, and trauma healing. He holds an MA in Conflict Analysis and Management from Royal Roads University and has served as an Indigenous Scholar in Residence for a Master of Arts in Leadership Health Specialization. Session Info: In this webinar, Harley will discuss ICS&H in healthcare, highlighting the impact of colonization and systemic racism through a trauma-informed lens. Drawing on 11 years of experience in British Columbia’s healthcare system, he will share insights from his work as both an ICS&H facilitator and a consultant on innovative health projects.
