David Reyes Thank you Skateboards part

This part was hard to make happen mentally. During this time I was just beginning my sobriety. The reason I chose to stop partying was because my mom was diagnosed with Leukemia and I wanted to make sure someone in my crazy family would be coherent enough to handle everything needed Incase of the worst case scenario. Leading up to my decision I was on a tour catching a buzz everyday and doing good things for community’s. One was skating for kids diagnosed with cancer at the chalk hospital. Another was donating 10k to a diy for materials and whatever else they needed for their hard work. All the while I was drunk knowing my mom was just diagnosed with leukemia. I was sad and depressed and to cope with it all I wanted to do was black out and just forget. One night I was at a club in Nashville and had been on a two day bender. I asked this girl if she knew a guy to buy some drugs. At this point I had already blacked out and I guess I got the drugs but didn’t pay for them. Apparently I tried to fight this Russian dude who was packing heat and also had a crew with him. The folks I was with handled the situation and without me knowing what I was doing I came out of my black out time traveling into my hotel room where I found the drugs and did them until 10 am the next day. While at the breakfast table I began to cry and had to let everyone know why I was acting up. That’s when I made the decision to stop partying and to focus on family and what I truly love which is skateboarding. This part was everything I wanted in a part from direction, to my vision, to working with Dan Stolling who killed it along with my extremely talented friend Jordan Jones who made the songs for my part.
