Run-In-Shed. Built in 1999. Pictured after 14yrs of use. I designed this after a run-in-shed found on an old farm est constructed in 1890-1910. 1st dig holes for posts. I cemented mine in but you could use post mix or just backfill and compact. The posts will last longer in cement. This was built for horses originally with 12'x12' layout + the 4' overhang - which gave us 12'x16' covered. We then seperated with horse panels that extended about 16' past the posts. This gave us a 12'x28' run for the horses. Later I built a barn for the horses and have also used this for goats and turkeys. Always face your Run-In-Shed South if you live in a cold climate. This allows you to take advantage of the Solar Gain provided by the Winter Sun and yet have a cool dry place for your animals in the summer. Finally, I poured a cement slab inside one of the 12x12 stalls and under the 4' overhang. Enclosed with a gate this makes a nice storage area for Hay.
