Welcome to Playa Bonita, Las Terrenas — one of the most beautiful surf spots in the Dominican Republic. As someone born on the island, this trip wasn’t just a getaway — it was a full-circle moment. 🏄‍♂️ I trained with Nelson (El Clasico) at Carolina Surf School, rode some solid waves (and wiped out plenty), watched legends like Kennedy & Santiago (Los Poderosos de Playa Bonita) do their thing, and soaked up every drop of Caribbean energy. Oh — and yes, a dog really did surf better than me. 🍴 Between surf sessions, I crushed fresh coco frío, crispy pescado frito, and cold piña coladas. I even linked up with a musician from the band Labess, who invited me to a live show at Casa Grande.
