Simple anatomy: Each testicle produces sperm that travel down the Vas Deferens ( 'Tube'). Each Tube is brought out through a small hole in the middle upper-third of the scrotum. The Fascia is the outside layer of the tube, like the skin of a sausage. The procedure requires the fascia to be separated (dissected) from the tube. The tube is then cut while holding up the Testicular (lower end). The upper (Abdominal) end then slips down inside its fascia (that has previously been separated). The fascia is secured over this end. Dr Dick Beatty uses a dissolvable suture to secure the fascia over the abdominal (upper end) - leaving the lower end 'Open.'
