And, for a change of pace some "travel" related tech, a camera! I might add, I LOVE cameras and photography and these tools are most enjoyed by me when I travel. Many more videos such as this are coming (more travel cameras). This is a short - rather RELAXED - First Impressions video of this great little camera, the Leica Q2 Monochrome. I talk about why I bought it, my first impressions after using it (for a short time, admittedly), my thoughts about the image quality and some example images that I have taken during my short time with this wonderful camera. Quick note: I repeatedly refer to the camera as a Leica Q - it is a Leica Q2. Sorry about that. The Leica Q2 is a camera I have lusted after for many years. But the cost of entry was ridicously high and hard to justify. Yet, I still wanted one. After many years of dreaming about it I finally pulled the trigger. I sold four older (and nice) Canon lenses and then bought this used Leica Q2 Monochrome from MPB (with some additional cash thrown in). I have had the camera about 4 months as of filming this video and love it. It's an easy camera to use, portable and delivers warm, crisp beautiful photos with low noise and exquisite tonality. Obviously it has limitations (fixed lens, black and white only) but that's okay - this is a camera that is special and produces such beautiful photos that the limitations are in fact, in many ways, advantages. So, is this a great travel camera? No (becase of it's limitations - black and white, video is lacking), but I think it's a great addition to my travel set-up if I don't mind hauling around a second camera. I plan on taking it with me on a few smaller trips this year and we'll see how it goes. To be fair, I've had this camera only a short amount of time but I'll post more videos as I take this camera traveling and use it for a longer period of time. But for now, I'm in love.
