As I walked around HMS Warrior and HMS Victory I had this song going round and round in my mind. Granted it's probably because I grew up in the 90s and for a time was a wee bit obsessed with the Disney movie Pocahontas - this track is in the opening scene - but when I came to put this video together it felt more tongue in cheek. A bit like I'm saying, 'look at the lies they were fed' and frankly look at the colossal creations of war that would be beautiful were it not for the fact they were created to kill. HMS Warrior never saw action and I think you can tell as you walk around her. It's a different feeling from the Victory. If you're curious by the way, the lantern marks where Nelson died and yes that is a wooden recorder I'm playing, pitch shifted and auto-tuned in an attempt to get it closer to a penny whistle. I hope to get some concert pitch woodwind in the future! I seem to have a collection of cheap recorders that can't play in tune with anything!
